HDSRL 2013 - The Norman Smith Handicap Race - Thirsk
- Wednesday 10th July, staggered handicap starts from approx 7.20pm
- Organised by Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers
- Course similar to the 2012 regular race, 9.2km
- Meet at the Athletic Club on Newsham Road, YO7 1QP
- The Start and the Finish are on grass playing fields near Thirsk Sports Centre (the swimming pool, 5-10 mins walk from Thirsk Athletic Club).
- Race starts on playing fields of Thirsk Sports Centre, continues over the Flatts fields, then on farm tracks before returning across the Flatts to finish at the Sports Centre.

- Only runners who have completed two or more HDSRL 2013 races are eligible to compete in the Handicap Race.
- Presentation and refreshments in the club house after
- Handicap Race Prizes: Norman Smith Handicap Trophy, plus shields to first 3 across the line
(subject to having run 2 other HDSRL 2013 races)
- Bottle of special Hambleton HDSRL Ale to first 250 finishers
- Presentation of team and individual League prizes.
